Masterclass with Lise Davidsen

The Bergen International Festival invites music students to participate in a masterclass on 28 May. The application deadline is 31 January.

Are you a singer, a student at NMH, and under 30? Participating in a masterclass with Lise Davidsen during the Bergen International Festival is a chance you don't get many times in your life.

Registration deadline: 31 January at 23:59. There is no registration fee, but you must pay for the journey to Bergen.

Artist in residence

Lise Davidsen is the Festival's "artist in residence" this year. The masterclass is part of the Bergen International Festival, open to the public and announced in the festival program (fib.no).

The International Masterclass for young singers is a collaboration between the Bergen International Festival, The Grieg Academy – Department of Music (UiB), and the Norwegian Academy of Music.

20 minutes each

The participants get 20 min individual instruction with Lise Davidsen, where she will focus on interpretation. The working sessions will be held in English. The pianist is James Baillieu.

Repertoire

The singers are asked to prepare one of the three art songs from their chosen repertoire: Three lieder of their choice from the repertoire of Edvard Grieg, Richard Strauss, and Jean Sibelius. Original language is required.
