NMH records a selection of public concerts each year for its archive. Which concerts do we record? Where can you find old recordings? How can you make your own recordings?
What can be recorded?
The Leader of the Concert and Event Production Section, in collaboration with the Communications Manager and the Head of the Concert Committee, decides which concerts NMH will record for each semester.
Archiving and availability
In an average year, we record 20-30 concerts a year at NMH.
How to make your own recordings in the concert halls
In Lindemansalen and Levinsalen, microphones are installed in the ceiling. You connect to these on the connection panel under the touch panel to the right of the stage (seen from the hall). The connection points are marked "ceiling microphone for recording." To use these, you need two XLR cables and a sound recorder or Mac/PC with a sound card. Cables, sound cards, and sound recorders are available as loan equipment from the AV department.
If you will record a video, you can borrow a camera from the library.
In Lindemansalen, there are three DPA 4006 microphones in Decca configuration, which are mixed down to a stereo signal.
In Levinsalen, there are two DPA 2006 microphones in AB stereo configuration.
