The Student Committee (SUT)

The student committee (SUT) represents the interests of students at the NMH. The committee is there to assist you when you need peer-to-peer help or advice.

Contact the student committee

The student committee is based in Room 111 in Block 1. The committee is elected by students at a general meeting and serves for one year. SUT elections are held in the spring semester every year.

President of SUT 2020/2021 is Annie Eline Lundgreen.

What does SUT do?

The SUT is the Norwegian Academy of Music’s student democracy and serves as a link to the academic and administrative management at the institution.

The SUT champions the students’ interests in various forums and works to improve the learning environment and academic standards. The committee also organises social events for students at the academy.

It manages lockers and practice rooms, oversees social events during freshers’ week and provides assistance during auditions.

The SUT is affiliated to the National Union of Students (NSO) and the Welfare Council in Oslo and Akershus (VT).

Student Representatives

Student democracy at the NMH extends beyond the SUT: a total of 40 students are serving on panels and committees set up to manage the Academy's activities in different ways. The SUT appoints all student reps and organises at least two seminars for student reps every year.

Want to get involved?

The process of appointing new student reps starts in spring (for the next academic year), but there are often vacancies during the year as well. Get in touch with us for more information.
