Apply to take part in METRIC 2025 in Helsinki – Modernizing European Higher Music Education Through Improvisation

Do you want to attend a course in Helsinki about cross-genre improvisation together with other European music students? Apply for METRIC by Sunday, November 3rd.

About the Course

The METRIC network, Modernizing European Higher Education Through Improvisation (metricimpro.eu), organizes an annual course week where improvisation is the main focus. The next course will take place in Helsinki in February 2025. The course is open to students from all musical genres.

Time and Place

The course takes place from February 16-22, 2025 at the Sibelius Academy in Helsinki.

Credits

Students receive 3 ECTS for participating in the course.

Funding

The course is funded through Erasmus+ (EU's programme to support education, training, youth and sport). Students pay for travel and accommodation themselves, but receive a grant from Erasmus+ of EUR 553 each.

It is possible to receive an additional grant if you travel by green means of transport, if you have permanent disabilities or chronic illnesses, or if you have children.

How to Apply

All of NMH's graduate students can apply. Master's students and bachelor students in their fourth year of study will be prioritized. Participation in the course does not provide a valid ground for absence from compulsory tuition at NMH.
