Such diversity arises naturally out of inclusive and non-discriminatory communities. Therefore, the Norwegian Academy of Music wishes to promote this type of community, where people can meet, work, create and reside safely.

- Musicians’ health. Musicians and music students score high on health related ailments. Practice an instrument is the activity that has the strongest effect on health. Therefore, we want to help prevent stress injuries and help you develop good work habits.
Getting Around
- Two buildings. NMH consists of two buildings: Building 1 houses the main entrance and the cafeteria while Building 2 is behind Building 1. The two buildings are connected by a bridge on the 3rd floor and a corridor on the lower level. Rooms with 3 numbers are in Building 1, while rooms with 5 numbers are in Building 2.
- Practice Rooms. There are practice rooms on the 5th floor of Building 1 and the 6th floor of Building 2. The practice rooms in Building 2 are for jazz students. Otherwise, all practice rooms are available to all students during school opening hours.
Here's how you can book practice rooms on the 5th floor of Building 1:
- A form is posted next to each door. When you take over an available room, write down your first name and the time you started using the room on the form.
- After one hour of practice, the next person in line may take the room. You can sign up for another hour if you haven't been asked to leave after 10 minutes.
Private teaching is not allowed at NMH.
